Dr Timothy Cheong is a Australian-trained Ophthalmologist with subspecialty interest in vitreo-retinal surgery.

After graduating from medical school at The University of Western Australia with honours, Dr Cheong completed post graduate studies at Harvard University, USA.

Dr Cheong's ophthalmology training was at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, which was followed by double fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery in the United Kingdom.   

Dr Cheong is pleased to offer his patients:

  • retinal surgery: including vitrectomy, epiretinal membranes (ERM), macular holes (FTMH) and retinal detachments

  • cataract surgery: using premium lens implants including toric (astigmatism correcting), multifocal and extended depth of focus (EDOF) types

  • complex lens surgery: including secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and front of eye (anterior segment) reconstruction

  • injection treatments: such as for wet macular degeneration or retinal vessel blockage

  • laser treatments: such as for diabetic retinopathy and retinal tears.
